Description
Description
The TSJ-N is a flexible electrical multiconductor, made up of cords of soft copper wires twisted in bundles, insulated with thermoplastic polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and covered with nylon; Helically assembled and with a weather resistant black thermoplastic polyvinyl chloride (PVC) outer sheath.
Standard Specifications
- TSJ-N conductors are manufactured according to standards: ASTM 174 and NTC 5521.
Characteristics
- It is manufactured in duplex, triplex, and quadruplex formations, in sizes ranging from 18 AWG (0.824 mm2 ) to 6 AWG (13.3 mm2 ).
- The cores (individual conductors) of the TSJ-N multiconductor are manufactured in colors according to their formation: - Duplex: black and white. -Triplex: black, white and green. - Quadruplex: black, white, red and green.
- It is designed to operate at a maximum voltage of 600 V.
- It operates at a maximum temperature of 60°C in dry, humid and wet environments.
- Complies with the RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) regulation.
Applications
- The TSJ-N is widely used in powering low consumption home appliances.
- It is also used in tools, lamps, as well as portable electrical extensions.
Prohibited Uses and Limitations:
- They cannot be used to replace the wiring of fixed installations such as outlets or switches.
- It must not be installed inside walls, floors or ceilings.
- It should not pass through doors, windows or similar openings where it could be damaged by sharp or pointed ends.
- It must not be stapled or nailed to the solid structures of the facility or building.
- It must not be installed in electrical piping, unless the Electrical Code allows it for a specific use.
- It must be avoided that the live conductor is connected to any of the exposed parts in lamps, electrical appliances and others (Sec. 410.5 of the NEC 2008
